Craft Stuff!!!

This is an example of why you do not go to Hobby Lobby when they have 50% off of there stamps, scrapbooking paper and stickers! You always come out of the store with way more than you originally intended to buy!! But hey they where some great deals so how can you pass it up! I could have bought more but I refrained!

I got some really cool stamps!

Very pretty Jane Austenish paper. I don't know how well you can see it, but trust me its pretty!

This stuff is pretty cool to! This is why I like Hobby Lobby they have christian stuff!

John Deere stickers!

Some cool cowboy stuff!! I don't know why the picture turned out blurry.

And last but definitely not least. Cowgirl rub ons! These are soooo cool!!!!
Well I bought lots of really cool stuff! Can't wait to use it!

Kolaches

On Saturday I made Kolaches for my family and Stephanie's family. They're like a sweet roll with a fruit filling in the center. They're really good but very time consuming to make! I thought I would post the recipe if any of you were adventurous enough to attempt them! They do take practice!

Czech Kolaches.

2 pkg yeast

1/3 C. warm water

1 1/2 T. sugar

2 C. potato water

1 C. mashed potatoes

1 C. sugar

2 tsp. salt

2/3 C. lard or butter

2 eggs

8 to 9 C. flour

Start yeast in warm warm and sugar, let bubble up. Warm potato water. Add mashed potatoes,
sugar, salt, lard and beaten eggs; beat well and add the dissolved yeast and 4 cups flour; beat for 5 min until light and fluffy. Work in rest of flour. Knead well and place in greased bowl. Brush the top with melted butter and place in warm place. Let rise till double in bulk; punch down and let rise again in warm place. Make into 2-inch balls, greasing hands to make balls. Let rise again for 15 mins. Make indentations in buns and fill with your favorite fillings (I use the Solo brand fruit fillings) and bake at 375* for about 15 mins. When nicely brown take out and brush with butter on top. Then remove from pan. Place on a towel and cover with dish towel. Makes about 4 dozen.

We had to use Cherry pie filling cause we ran out of the usually filling! It still tasted good though!

Here's another crafty Friday post!

Lets see..

I started the scarf that I showed a picture of last week.

Here's a close up of the pattern in the scarf.

I've been working on the quilt I'm making for my Mom. I'll try to post my progress on it every week. I've got all the strips sewn together now I have to cut them. My favorite part! Not!

Here's the pattern I'm using

Tonight I'm going to dance society, where we learn all kinds of old English country dances. It's so much fun!

Sew Crafty Friday

I just love reading sew crafty Friday posts on other blogs. So I decided to post one of my own.

Here's what I have been working on lately.

I've been working on knitting this afgan. I got the pattern here http://www.kraemeryarns.com/patterns/pdfs/lotsoflove.pdf It is taking me a long time because it's so big!

Last night I started this scarf. It is so easy and fast. You use a size 19 needle and you double the yarn. It knits up really fast!

I have yarn to start another scarf with.

I'm going to be using this pattern. I can't wait to get started on it!

Well I have more projects started but I'll wait for a different time to show those.

David Crowder!

I'm so excited! Tomorrow My Dad and I along with my friend Stephanie are going to be going to a David Crowder Band concert! Someone I work with had extra tickets. Our local K-Love radio station gives away front row seats with meet and greet passes, for a lot of different local concerts, and she won them. What's really funny is that earlier this year she won front row seats with meet and greet passes to the Newsboys concert! (my all time favorite band!) We had made a deal ahead of time that if she won she would take me and I would drive, so I got to go. I was so surprised, We never thought she would actually win! Well anyway, she won again this time! I'm going to buy her extra tickets and I get to go, I'm so excited!! I'll be sure to post some pictures of the concert later!

Hallelujah Party!

We don't go trick or treating for Halloween. This year we went to Pump it Up for a hallelujah party put on by the home church of some of our friends! Pump it Up is a place with blow up bouncing things, it was a lot of fun! We didn't really get that many pictures but here's a few.

We don't usually dress up for Halloween, but at work they like us to. Since I had to work, I decided to go as a Cowgirl!

Well that's it for now!
